neo.monamodi@gmail.com I WONDER August 4, 2015

I WONDER

I wonder if it hurts to live
If when the hurt gets too much the dead choose to leave
I wonder how long the dead will remain that way
If eventually it will hurt them being dead.

I wonder if it is better death than life
If the dead are given chance to choose
I wonder if when choosing they refer death over life
If they see more freedom and peace there than here.

I wonder if the dead feel things we feel
If they feel our pain and experience our kind of love
I wonder what they'd do if given a chance to say goodbye
If they would see our hurt and choose to rather stay.

I wonder if the dead meet on the other side
If they give hugs, laugh and together sip on milk and honey
I wonder how bright the streets are there
Whether the dead still think of us as we do them.

I wonder how long the dead are going to remain dead
If after a thousand years have piled they would live again
I wonder if they'd choose life if given a chance from there
Whether they would choose to live again or remain dead.

I wonder if the dead are given tasks by the Saviour
If they take trips and go far, far away
I wonder if they say goodbye to other souls
Whether they tell them they shall miss them while on the trip.

I wonder if they are ever assigned a family member to guard
Whether they soothe their pain and make them forget
I wonder if they would ever get tired of being dead
Whether the would come back and live again.

I wonder what happens in the dead world
What jokes they tell and what stories they share
I wonder if they experience a more advanced love
And whether we remain in their hearts as they do in ours

neo.monamodi@gmail.com when you passed August 4, 2015

Mbako

When you passed, I could imagine you
I could imagine you passing by the fields as you flew away
You must have went through your old school and recalled those days
Went past kids playing and singing loudly just like your way
I could imagine your soul floating looking at freedom on that day.
I imagined the jokes you told the other souls you met
You promised them to later have long bubbly talks I bet

I imagined the loud laughter you had when your pick-up angel you met
You must have freely followed him down the path he led
You must have taken his hand and with laughter in you words said "ok dude! I'm in!"

I imagined for a moment you turned back to decide
But then you saw too much peace ahead and turned the other side
When you turned back and saw undone tasks and things you put aside
I imagined you smiled and turned putting it all behind
I imagined you turning and saying "It ends here on my side"

I had a feeling there was more fun and peace and love ahead
There was no point regretting things unsaid and bills unpaid
I imagined if there was no fun where you went you would have stayed
Looking at this world's toils you chose the other side instead

You lived your life with grace and love you had no regrets.
Right now if you could say it you'd say "don't grieve I am free"
You would say, "I found a good place at the close of the day."
You would say "I left a void, I know but remember me with joy"
You would say, "share friendship, talks, a laughter and a kiss;
For I promise these things too I will miss"

Perhaps to us your life was brief
But to God it was a life full and rich
You kept good friends, had good times, and loved gently
Perhaps there is no point grieving
For God wanted you and you answered
Death has no power, for death is freedom
Death gives us back to our Maker and shines our day

Mbako, may your soul enjoy eternal peace my boy

Cecilia Bourguet My deepest condolences July 21, 2015

My condolences, as feelings of pain and bitterness become unbearable. It is my desire to convey a comforting thought based on the Holy Scriptures

John 5:28 "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out."

This passage speaks of the resurrection of our loved ones. It is not God's plan to see us suffer and die, so He extends the following invitation to us: "Come near to God and He will draw near to you" (James 4:8)

Hendrick Polanco My deepest condolences June 30, 2015

My deepest condolences.  May these few words from the Holy Scriptures bring you comfort in your time of grief...

John 11:32-45

32 And so Mary, when she arrived where Jesus was and caught sight of him, fell at his feet, saying to him: “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” 33 Jesus, therefore, when he saw her weeping and the Jews that came with her weeping, groaned in the spirit and became troubled; 34 and he said: “Where have YOU laid him?” They said to him: “Lord, come and see.” 35 Jesus gave way to tears. 36 Therefore the Jews began to say: “See, what affection he used to have for him!” 37 But some of them said: “Was not this [man] that opened the eyes of the blind man able to prevent this one from dying?”

38 Hence Jesus, after groaning again within himself, came to the memorial tomb. It was, in fact, a cave, and a stone was lying against it.39 Jesus said: “TAKE the stone away.” Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to him: “Lord, by now he must smell, for it is four days.”40 Jesus said to her: “Did I not tell you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” 41 Therefore they took the stone away. Now Jesus raised his eyes heavenward and said: “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 True, I knew that you always hear me; but on account of the crowd standing around I spoke, in order that they might believe that you sent me forth.” 43 And when he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice: “Laz´a·rus, come on out!” 44The [man] that had been dead came out with his feet and hands bound with wrappings, and his countenance was bound about with a cloth. Jesus said to them: “Loose him and let him go.”

45 Therefore many of the Jews that had come to Mary and that beheld what he did put faith in him;
